Teenage boy arrested after 18-year-old stabbed to death in north London


A teenage boy has been arrested on suspicion of murder after an 18-year-old tonight died from stab wounds in North London.


Officers and paramedics from the London Ambulance Service (LAS) were called to Ayley Croft in Enfield, North London earlier this evening to reports of a stabbing.


They found an 18-year-old boy with stab wounds who died at the scene despite the efforts of emergency services.

His family have been informed and are being supported by specialist officers.


Police arrested a teenage boy at the scene on suspicion of murder who has been taken into custody.


Investigations are underway and homicide detectives from the Met's Specialist Crime Command have been informed.


A crime scene has been put in place and police are continuing their enquiries.


A spokesperson for the Metropolitan Police said: 'Police were called to Ayley Croft, Enfield, at 18.10hrs on Monday, 7 February, to reports of a stabbing.


'Officers attended along with paramedics from London Ambulance Service (LAS). A male, believed to be 18 years old, was found with stab wounds.


'Despite the efforts of emergency services, he died at the scene.


'Next of kin have been notified and are being supported by specialist officers.


'Homicide detectives from the Met's Specialist Crime Command have been informed.


'A crime scene has been put in place.


'A teenage boy was arrested at the scene on suspicion of murder. He has been taken into custody.

'Enquiries continue.'
