Giorgio Chiellini makes Cristiano Ronaldo remark after Juventus awful start continues

Juventus have suffered an awful start to their Serie A season following the departure of Cristiano Ronaldo and their captain Giorgio Chiellini has spoken out about their former player after his dream second debut for Manchester United

Giorgio Chiellini has made a remark about how Juventus had to adapt to Cristiano Ronaldo and identified who will fill his boots.

Ronaldo left the Old Lady this summer after three years in Italy as he forced a move away despite having one year still remaining on his contract.

His return to Manchester United this weekend was a very special occasion and attracted the eyes of the footballing world as he scored twice at a packed out Old Trafford.

Contrastingly, Juventus suffered a 2-1 loss to Napoli to add to their poor start to the season which has seen them pick up just one point after three games, leaving them 16th in Serie A.

Speaking after the defeat, Chiellini told DAZN: “When you have a world class player like Cristiano, you cannot help but use the team to play for him.

"We must be grateful to Cristiano for all he did during these years at Juventus, but we carry on.

“This will be Paulo Dybala’s team. Over the last couple of years, he lowered his average goals because of Cristiano’s presence, but he is a key player for this team and that is recognised by everyone.”

Ronaldo scored 101 goals in 134 appearances for Juve but failed to help them win the elusive Champions League they desire.

And despite his fantastic scoring record, there have been suggestions the five-time Balon d'Or winner held the club back from progressing.
