95-year-old man reportedly marries girl, 14, in Abuja, says they love each other

The nuptial between a 95-year-old man named Alhaji Muhammad Sabo and a teenage girl said to be 14 has sparked massive reactions online, withinnigeria reported.

The wedding took place on May 5, 2023, in Dogon Ruwa, under Gawu in the Abaji Area Council of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Abuja.

Ibraheem Sa’eedu, a guest who attended the event, posted photographs from the wedding on Facebook and accompanied them with a caption that read:

“Finally the did has been done. I have witnessed ooo. Happy marriage life..tsoho.”

Additionally, Hussaini Duma Jagaba also shared images of the couple on social media, acknowledging that the groom had stated his indifference toward critics of their marriage. According to Alhaji Muhammad Sabo, the age difference does not matter to him as he and his young bride share a deep and genuine love for one another.

Jagaba recounting his interview with the man wrote:

“As I witnessed this wedding I pray may God save the marriage. 14 years and 95 years. For the interview we made with the old man yesterday after the wedding of Fatiha, he said whatever people said he don’t care about that because they love each other some people may think they force her or she married him because of money, people should stop thinking negative about there marriage,”
