Garage slammed for selling single toilet rolls for eye-watering price

March 24, 2020

A petrol station has been slammed for trying to flog bog rolls for £1.69 each during the coronavirus crisis.

An angry customer decided to confront a worker at the garage in Lincolnshire and filmed the exchange.

Toilet roll has become highly sought after since the coronavirus outbreak as people strip supermarket shelves bare of the household essential.

The Government is vowing to take action on stores cashing in on the coronavirus crisis by charging higher prices than those marked on products.

Shopper Parvez Khan, 52, decided to take matters into his own hands after becoming enraged after finding 10 unwrapped loo rolls on the shelf among the washing powder and cat food.

In footage taken on Thursday he made clear the shop was trying to extort customers desperate to get their hands of the household essential during the crisis.

In the heated exchange Parvez starts to grill the worker over the toilet rolls, before another customer demands to speak to the boss of the shop.
