Wife killed husband with lover after fantasising about having sex in his blood

A wife and her lover have been convicted of murdering her wealthy farmer husband after sharing pornographic fantasies of torturing and killing him for months.

William Taylor, 69, disappeared just before his 70th birthday last June, with his skeletal remains eventually found waist-deep in mud by a fisherman on a secluded riverbank near one of his farms in Gosmore, Herfordshire.

His body was so decomposed that experts told St Albans Crown Court that determining a cause of death was impossible.

His estranged wife Angela Taylor, 53, and her boyfriend Paul Cannon, 54, are said to have shared a ‘venomous hatred’ for the farmer, who had refused to grant his wife of 20 years a divorce.

WhatsApp messages found in Cannon’s phone were read to jurors and described sexually graphic and violent ways of hurting Mr Taylor, including cutting his ligaments and fingers off and showering together as his blood ran down the drain.

On the night the landowner – who suffered from tinnitus and arthritis – vanished, Cannon told Taylor he was ‘just watching Kill Bill 2 lol’, and she replied saying: ‘1 would be nice’ with several smiling emojis.

In the months beforehand, digger driver Cannon told Taylor he would ‘kill for’ her and was scared of losing her.

He said: ‘You know what I’d like to do … make love to you on his kitchen table with your pussy soaked in blood with him tied to a chair so he had to watch !!!!!!!! Then send him to hell.’

Mr Taylor, who shared three children with his wife, was last seen alive at around 9pm on June 3 by his grandson Ben who had taken him for a roast dinner.

There was no sign of blunt force injuries and no gunshot or stab wounds on his body, as well as no evidence of toxic substances ingested.

However, there was a ‘possible fracture’ to the hyoid bone, a delicate neck structure, raising the possibility of compression of the neck prior to death.

Prosecutor John Price claimed Cannon had killed the 69-year-old while Taylor likely waited at home.

However, he added that she was equally guilty as she had encouraged him in the act.

Jurors at the trial heard how in the days following the farmer’s death, Cannon sold a Suzuki 4×4 for cash, with the car ending up in Bulgaria, and Taylor got rid of her phone.
