Horrifying moment a teenager is stabbed in broad daylight by gang of attackers near a busy town cent

A teenager was stabbed during a fight in broad daylight filmed near a busy city centre.

Horrifying footage shows the clash in the centre of Wakefield, West Yorkshire.

Moments before the attack teenagers had been seen kicking each other, pulling each others hair, and a window had been smashed.

Police said a seriously injured man was found after they were called to Lower York Street at 6.30pm on Monday.

Three people have been arrested including a 17-year-old girl and a 19-year-old man

Moments beforehand the knife had been wrenched from the hand of the teenager wearing a grey hoodie

Shocking video showed at least six teenagers brawling in the middle of the street outside a corner shop.

Teenagers are threatened with what appears to be an axe at the start of the video while an object is thrown which smashes a window.

Bystanders watched the fight unfold and, after the weapon was used, one is heard saying: 'Oh, he has stabbed him'.

The victim was later seen swathed in bandages as emergency services treated him at the scene.

He remains in hospital in a serious but not life-threatening condition.

After the knife is brought down two teenagers were seen fleeing from the scene

As well as three arrests, a 24-year-old was questioned on suspicion of affray before being released.

Detective Inspector Gaynor Hancock of Wakefield CID, said: 'This was a serious incident at a busy time of the day in the centre of Wakefield.

'Our enquiries into what happened are ongoing and I would like to appeal to any witnesses or anyone with information to call police on 101 quoting log 1569 of Monday, July 8.'

My view: It is sad what some teenagers do to each other, they have no respect for human life. Clearly London has become more dangerous.
