Brothers, 14, and 13, 'murdered by mum' died in Sheffield hospital just minutes apart

Tristan and Blake Barrass died on May 24
Inquests into the deaths or two brothers who were allegedly murdered by their mum in Sheffield has been opened.
Tristan and Blake Barrass, aged 13 and 14, died in hospital 12 minutes apart after police were called to a semi-detached house in the Shiregreen area of the city on May 24.
Their mum Sarah Barrass has been charged with murder and will go on trial later this year.
Coroner Christopher Dorries said both boys were born in Sheffield and were students.
He said emergency services were called to a house on May 24 and the boys were taken to Sheffield Children’s Hospital.
Tristan was pronounced dead at 9.14am that morning and Blake died at 9.26am, the inquest heard.
No cause of death was given at the inquest and Mr Dorries said he was not in a position to release the bodies for funeral.

Post-mortem examinations have been carried out on the brothers but the results were not given at today’s hearing.
Barrass appeared at Sheffield Crown court last week alongside the boys’ uncle Brandon Machin, 37. Both are accused of murdering the two boys.
Barrass is also charged with three counts of attempted murder against two other children. They are due to go on trial on November 12.
Both are remanded in custody. Detectives have given no indication of the nature of the incident but have confirmed it was confined to one property and was not a shooting.

Brandon Machin will also go on trial for the boys’ murder
