Rihanna fans left shocked as they learn they've been mispronouncing her name
Rihanna fans have been forced to confront the fact that they’ve been pronouncing her name completely wrong.
A footage taken from a British Vogue interview in which Rihanna introduces herself before promoting her new fashion line has been shared over one thousand times on Twitter, with fans voicing their shock for mispronouncing her name.
In the video, the fashion and cosmetics mogul pronounces her name as “REE-anna” rather than using the American pronunciation of “Ree-AH-na.”
one Twitter user wrote alongside the clip, “Rihanna tells us - we are pronouncing her name incorrectly,” “And tells us how to pronounce her name, ‘Ree-Anna’ not ‘Ree-Ah-Na’ she says on Twitter.”
