BBC royal correspondent Nicholas Witchell sparks concern after live TV mishap

BBC royal correspondent Nicholas Witchell left viewers baffled last night as he appeared confused and forget what to say during a live news report from outside Buckingham Palace

Nicholas, who was reporting on Baby Sussex, suddenly appeared in the footage to forget what to say before apologising and saying he was 'collecting his thoughts.'

Witchell tried to continue with the broadcast but couldn't finish his sentence before handing back to the studio.

Viewers were left worried and took to Twitter to share their thoughts and concerns for his wellbeing.

One viewer said: "Just seen Nicholas Witchell on a live BBC news broadcast,he had to pass back to the studio, one of the most experienced presenters so it wasn't nerves etc, before he gets panned online can everyone at least wait until he is confirmed ok, he deserves that."

Another wrote: "What just happened with Nicholas Witchell on the news at ten? he seemed to lose his train of thought on a couple of occasions during his report and ended up referring back to the studio without completing his report. Hope he’s ok, it sounded like he took a funny turn live on air"

My view: The man looked tired, he needs to rest, He was falling asleep through the report. Oh well I don't blame him, no one can keep up with MM's 24/7 round-the-clock baby news. I hope Witchell is okay, he sounded a bit confused and sleepy. Imagine being Nicholas Witchell, standing in the dark, stood in the cold, in your sixties, outside Buckingham Palace, to report that MM and PH had a baby. But not where you are. Hello, give the man a break, common BBC get a grip.
