Naked veterinary assistant, 21, who was caught on CCTV as she chased her lover down a hotel corridor

A young woman who chased her boyfriend through a hotel corridor and attacked him with a wine bottle while naked sobbed in court today as she was spared jail.

Amelia Oxenford, 21, was caught on camera shoving boyfriend Alex Buttigieg out of their room in Ascot Hyde Park Hotel, Bayswater, west London, before launching the assault with the bottle.

The fracas came after the pair had rowed over Oxenford seeing another man during a brief separation in their relationship. The couple had previously consumed two bottles of wine while she had also drunk four cocktails.

Oxenford, of Cambridgeshire, later smashed a glass in their room and cut him across the nose with a shard, while she also broke his spectacles.

She was handed a 12-month community order at Westminster Magistrates' Court today and ordered to undergo 10 days of rehab.

Oxenford, wearing a brown turtleneck, wept quietly in the dock as she was also given 160 hours of unpaid work.
