2019 elections: PDP accuses APC of renting crowd at rallies

The PDP has accused the APC-led federal government of renting crowd at its presidential rallies
The opposition party accused the ruling party of paying fees ranging from N5,000 to N10,000 per head, at the rallies
The party alleged that the same individuals are recycled in rallies especially in a particular geo-political zone
The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has accused the All Progressives Congress (APC)-led federal government of renting crowd at its presidential rallies to give the impression that the Buhari's government has the support of many Nigerians.
The opposition party in a statement sent to Legit.ng on Wednesday, January 23, by its spokesman, Kola Ologbodiyan, accused the APC of paying fees ranging from N5,000 to N10,000 per head, at the rallies.
The party further alleged that the same individuals are recycled in rallies especially in a particular geo-political zone, describing it as the latest racket in town.
Part of the statement read: “We know how the Buhari presidency has sunk low to be paying money to people to attend his rallies; how the presidency and the APC are recruiting agents in various parts of the country, through whom they conduit renting fees ranging from N5,000 to N10,000 per head, at President Buhari’s rally, which is now the latest racket in town.
“These agents transport the rented crowd, in buses and trailers from neighboring states, to venues of President Buhari’s rallies to give the impression of massive support from the host state. “Usually, the same individuals are recycled in rallies especially in a particular geo-political zone.

“The agents also orchestrate stunts, including getting people to climb on vehicles, rooftops, electric poles, towers and masts, as well as blocking roads around the venue and surging towards the podium, all to create an impression of crowd overflow and a fake craving for President Buhari, whose rallies are now our new Nollywood series.
“Hirelings detailed to perform difficult stunts receive higher payments, which explains the surge to climb poles, towers and masts at APC rallies.
“It has been established that over 50 percent of people at any President Buhari’s state rallies are made up of apolitical persons rented from contiguous states. This explains why the crowd at President Buhari’s rallies, which having no affinity with his ambition, is always unruly and do not respond to the APC slogans or wave the APC brooms.”
The PDP stated that ahead of President Buhari’s forthcoming rally in Anambra, APC agents have been fully mobilized to rent and transport crowd from Kogi, Edo and Delta to create an impression that he enjoys massive support in the state.
“President Buhari should stop deceiving himself and know that the masses, which he impoverished, will collect his money, which is part of our common patrimony, and still vote their candidate, Atiku Abubakar, and defend their votes to the very end,” the party said.
Meanwhile, the PDP has condemned Asiwaju Bola Tinubu over his comments against former president Olusegun Obasanjo, describing it as disrespectful, reckless, unguarded and indecorous.
The party was responding to the APC leader's comments on Obasanjo after the former president took the Buhari's government to the cleaners over its performance in office.
The PDP in a statement sent to Legit.ng by Ologbodiyan, on Tuesday, January 22, said Tinubu in his tirade against the former president, “sounded like a disrobed ruler facing a pang of defeat as he watches his empire being legitimately taken.”

My view: For goodness' sake, enough already from this evil party known as PDP, that wrecked and looted Nigeria dry, during former Goodluck Jonathan's administration and also under Obasanjo and Atiku's government, Former president Obasanjo and vice president Atiku made 25 Nigerians oil billionaires, while they ignored and denied jobless Nigerians Income and Housing Support. Well, you all should know by now who Atiku and Obasanjo's greedy friends and cronies are. And this PDP are ready to finish Nigeria from where their friend/comrade Jonathan stopped.
