California shooting: At least 12 killed after gunman opens fire in bar filled with college students

12 people, including a police sergeant, were killed after a gunman opened fire at a country music bar in the Los Angeles area on Wednesday night.
According to reports the victims were killed inside the Borderline Bar and Grill in the suburb of Thousand Oaks during an event for college students.
Ventura Country Sheriff Geoff Dean told reporters that, the gunman was found dead inside the bar although it was not immediately known if he was killed by officers or shot himself.

It is unclear if the number of fatalities includes the gunman.
Gary Kuredjian of the Ventura County Sheriff's office said, possibly several hundred people were in the Borderline Bar and Grill when the shooting started.
According to Ventura County Star, at least four ambulances were at the scene to treat the victims.
