Fury as mum paints 3-year-old daughter black to look like a Benidorm sunglasses seller for Halloween
A mum who blacked up her three-year-old daughter to make her look like a Benidorm beach trader for Halloween has told people who were offended to “get a grip”.
Claire Flynn, 26, posted a picture of her daughter Sienna costume on Facebook yesterday and wrote: “Happy Halloween from Benidorms finest… lookie lookie.”
Her daughter was covered in black facepaint for Halloween
Her daughter was covered in black facepaint and was holding a selection of glasses which were “for sale” for 20 euros.
The costume was intended to impersonate one of the beach traders who work on poplar holiday resorts and Claire said
she won’t apologise.
Claire, from Motherwell, told the Daily Record: “I'm not going to apologise for this or delete my post.
“If people want to be all PC about it they need to take a look at themselves. It's really not an issue.”
But her mum Claire has defended her "creative" costume and told people to "get a grip"
Claire, a nursery nurse, said she got the “creative” idea when Sienna got a toy monkey from one of the traders and she “loved” them.
She added: “I'm just a creative person and that's what Halloween is all about. It's a kid in a costume wearing facepaint. People need to get a grip.
“I'm not going to bow down to anyone that has an issue with this. I'm not a racist and I've not seen anyone calling me a racist and I'm definitely not one.”
She added that people who dress up as Jimmy Savile and Adolf Hitler don’t get called paedophiles or Nazi supporters.
Lord Sugar compared the Senegal team to Marbella beach touts - sparking fury
Claire also said friends and family thought the costume was “brilliant” and added no one took offence when she was trick or treating last night.
It comes after Lord Sugar sparked outrage when he tweeted a picture of the Senegal World Cup football team and compared them to Marbella beach touts earlier this year.
The 71-year-old posted the picture online following their shock 2-1 victory over Poland in the first round of the 2018 World Cup in Russia.
