Is Neymar on his way back to LaLiga Santander? Real Madrid and Barcelona have their eyes on him
Neymar, like tomatoes, is in season all year round and, despite moving to Paris Saint-Germain little over a year ago, appears to have his heart set on a return to Spain.
It seems that the 26-year-old hasn't settled to life in Paris and isn't motivated by the standard in Ligue 1 but it remains to be seen whether a return to LaLiga Santander would see him end up at Real Madrid or former club Barcelona.
The Catalans are now being spoken about as a possible destination for Neymar, who recently visited the club's training ground and still has a great relationship with their key players.
Barcelona would undoubtedly welcome their former star back with open arms.
The club's board may need some convincing though after the player's comments upon leaving Catalonia.
"That president is a joke," Neymar said of Josep Maria Bartomeu.
As MARCA have previously reported and as Real Madrid know, Neymar could end his PSG contract in the summer of 2019 by paying the same 222 million euros that the French club invested to sign him in August 2017.
Despite Barcelona's overtures, whether hidden or not, Los Blancos continue to wait for 'Ney'.
Madrid decided to invest in renovating the Estadio Santiago Bernabeu instead of bringing in a marquee signing to replace Cristiano Ronaldo, a decision which was questioned by its members.
President Florentino Perez responded in no uncertain terms, although it is still his desire to bring the Brazilian superstar to the Spanish capital one day.
"To sign a player worth that much plus his salary would cost more than this [renovating the stadium]," he said.
This summer, Real had to issue more than one statement denying that contact had been made with Neymar in an effort to avoid upsetting PSG.
The European champions have been sending messages to the player though, suggesting that he will have more chances to win the Ballon d'Or at the Bernabeu and that the club know how to look after their stars.
The fact is that as his teammate Kylian Mbappe has started to overshadow him in his own team, Neymar is no longer happy, comfortable or motivated in Paris.
The noises coming from Spain are making him feel wanted and at the centre of attention again.
That is where Neymar feels most happy, comfortable and motivated.

My view: So, is Neymar regretting his move to PSG, unfortunately he messed things up for money and now he's realising that money isn't everything family, friends and a fulfilling job all count more towards happiness. Neymar is just not happy at PSG.
