Father flees wrecked Ford Focus but leaves his SON inside after crashing into wall then ploughing in

Culled from The Sun

A Dad left his injured son in a wrecked Ford Focus after smashing through a garden wall and ending up on its side.

Following the crash around 9pm on Saturday night in Airmyn village, in the East Riding of Yorkshire, the driver fled the scene, leaving his injured child in the damaged vehicle.

Police were called to the wreckage at the village, near Goole, at 8.41pm, where they found the child alone. No details over the boy's age have been given.

A spokesman for Humberside Police said: "The vehicle left the road and hit a parked car on a drive, ending up on its side. The driver made off from the scene [in Airmyn] before police arrived.

"Patrols carried out an area for him. The passenger was treated by ambulance at the scene having told officers his father, who was driving whilst under the influence, left him there injured."

Three hours after the crash, the force said a recovery truck had managed to get the Ford Focus back on its wheels from its "precarious position" in someone's front garden.

The driver appeared to be heading towards the A614 when he crashed, ripping off his front bumper and causing major damage to the front of the car.

A witness said: "A black Ford Focus lost control and crashed through a garden wall before ending up smashing its way into a huge hedge.

“Police and ambulance crews dashed to the scene. When I got there, the police had just got the car pulled from the hedge and onto the road.

“The car also took out a fir tree in the front garden, which was jammed into the hedge having been torn out by its roots by the car.”

It's not known if police caught the driver after he ran off. Sun Online have contacted Humberside Police for a response.

Pictures taken at the scene show the destruction left behind by the car.

Garden ornaments were destroyed while rubble and car debris were left scattered across the floor.

My view: Father from hell, such a selfish man, he should face life driving ban.
