Culled from Vanguard
PRESIDENT Muhammadu Buhari on Friday in Daura, Katsina State said there was enough evidence that the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC will win landslide in the 2019 general elections, Vanguard reported.
Buhari also said his trekking for 800 meters was neither to make cheap political gain nor was it to show his fitness ahead of 2019 even as he said that more Nigerians were appreciative of the implementation of policies and projects of the Federal Government aimed at improving the standard of living in the country.
On the 2019 elections, the President said already the indication to that effect was the governorship election in Ekiti state and the bye elections for the seats in Bauchi, Katsina and Kogi States.
Speaking when he received representatives of the 34 Chairmen of the Association of Local Governments of Nigeria (ALGON) in Katsina State, President Buhari said it was only the blind that would not see the signs of victory for the APC.
A statement by the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity,, Malam Garba Shehu stated that the President said the victories recorded by the APC in bye-elections in Bauchi, Katsina and Kogi were sufficient proof that 2019 elections will be won by the party.
According to him, “coming against the backdrop of the victory in Ekiti governorship election, the string of victory by our party, the APC, is a clear indication of the way things will go in 2019. “For those who are discerning; those who have ears and eyes they will see, hear and understand.
