POLICE OFFICER BRUTALLY BEATS UP WOMAN HOLDING BABY AS GHANAIAN PRESIDENT AKUFO ADDO SAYS HE MUST BE
There is outrage on social media over an act of police brutality as a video circulating on social media shows a police officer at Midlands Savings and Loans beat up a woman who was holding a baby, GhanaWeb reported.
Her only crime is that she got into the banking hall few minutes after the closing hours so she was asked to leave and return the following day but she insisted of staying until she collects her gh250. This police officer was asked to drive her out and this is the best approach he could use, Samuel Baah Mcjoe, reported.
Social media users reacting to the incident insist that the action of the police officer was totally unjustified.
The police officer is seen holding onto the woman and hitting her multiple times with an umbrella, as she tries to wrestle away.
Some bystanders eventually rescue the baby from the incident as the officer drags the woman to the floor The officer also lands several punches to the head of the wailing woman who appeared to be trying to withdraw GHc 250. Some incensed Ghanaians have demanded that the officer lose his job for assaulting the woman, GhanaWeb reported.
'Policemen are meant to protect citizens not to assault citizens; I support the measures that the IGP has taken to sanction the police officer'- President Akufo-Addo.
