Wracked with guilt after sex on beach fling as girlfriend may have STI
DEAR DEIDRE: I HAD stupid, fun, drunken sex on holiday.
Now I’m terrified I‘ve got an STI and have passed it on to my girlfriend.
I had hot steamy sex on the beach with a girl I met on holiday
I went to Corfu on a lads’ holiday with a couple of mates.
We were all at university together and are now 22.
The holiday was great and one day I met a real stunner on the beach. She was 21.
I knew I should not have been chatting her up but I heard myself suggesting we meet up for a drink that evening.
I'm distant in bed with my girlfriend as I'm worried I have given her an STI
The words just kept on coming out of my mouth.
She agreed and we met as planned, had a drink then went for a meal. After that we went for a walk along the shore.
The atmosphere was electric and when I kissed her, she was as keen as I was.
We lay down behind a rock and had sex on the warm sand.
Despite negative STI results I have started noticing terrible symptoms
I am ashamed to say I did not have a single thought for my girlfriend back home.
Next day my mates asked how I had got on the previous evening, because I had not been with them.
They saw who I had been with and one of them said he had seen her with a different guy every night. This put me in a panic.
By the time I got home I had started having horrible symptoms.
I went for medical advice and have had several negative tests for STIs.
Now I can’t stop worrying that I might still have symptoms and it is becoming an obsession.
I keep wondering if I have put the girl I love at risk.
I cannot imagine how I could have been so stupid about all this.
