Chelsea went down to 10 men early on but they can't lay the blame solely at the referee, they were total chaos and awful as they start the season

The Blues suffered a nightmare start to their Premier League title defence, having two men sent off as Burnley claimed a deserved win at Stamford Bridge.

The Blues were better after the break and pulled a goal back when summer signing Alvaro Morata headed in shortly after coming off the bench.

However, the Spaniard was also at fault for denying the home side a second goal, adding an unnecessary touch to Andreas Christiansen's goal-bound shot from an offside position.

But overall, Chelsea's performance was one of utter chaos and a team in shambles. On the sideline, Conte looked like a man who wished he had had the courage to quit in the summer. Conte's bench was stocked with kids in what seemed like a warning and obvious message to the club's board that new players are needed.

It was only one game but the manner of Chelsea’s defeat spoke of a club where all is in disarray.
