CRYSTAL PALACE 0-1 TOTTENHAM: SPURS CLOSE THE GAP ON CHELSEA AFTER CHRISTIAN ERIKSEN'S LATE GOAL
Spurs had the best of the chances as they dominated the game in the second-half. Dele Alli could have scored at the far post from a Kyle Walker cross; Hennessey made the best save of the night from an Alli shot after 62 minutes; Eric Dier headed an Eriksen corner just over.
But this was still a very low performance by Tottenham’s standards. They dominated mainly because much of the fight disappeared from Crystal Palace after the stand-out player of their recent revival, Mamadou Sakho was carried off with what appeared to be a serious knee injury early in the second-half.
Sakho landed awkwardly and hyper-extended the joint eight minutes after the restart, tussling with Harry Kane.
Palace’s momentum disappeared after Sakho got injured. Until that point they had looked a match for Tottenham, at least.
