MANCHESTER UNITED WINGER JESSE LINGARD REWARDED AS HE SIGNS NEW FOUR-YEAR-DEAL WORTH UP TO £100,000-
Jesse Lingard has been rewarded by Manchester United for his fine form over the past two seasons with a huge contract worth up to £100,000-a-week on Thursday.
He joined United's academy aged seven and is now a first-team regular
Lingard, 24, signed a four-year deal that sees him tied to the club until 2021 and earning £75,000-a-week, although that figure will increase by £25,000 if United qualify for next season’s Champions League.
The new contract have more than trebled the England international’s wages from £30,000-a-week and put him up the highest-earner list at Old Trafford.
Lingard said: ‘We have already won a major trophy this season and I look forward to helping us win many more under this great manager.’
My opinion: Manchester United seems not to be bothered that their players are not interested in winning Premier League matches outrightly but just to draw. why reward players who are not performing well as a team just to keep them, I hope they are able to break the jinx that is stopping them from scoring.
Only then can United justify why they should pay Jesse Lingard £400,000-a-month
Man-United should take a look at how Leicester players are coming-back from being Champion flops to winning games with goals and their unbeaten run is now fifth in a row.
Zlatan Ibrahimovic is a matured player that is doing very well at 35, he deserves whatever United pay him and more because he is doing well, his heart and soul are in it to score, unlike the young players who are only interested in showing off their flashy cars and mansions off pitch.
Why pay a 24-year-old £400,000-a-month for getting draws? your players have to be winning here and there to justify their over-the-top salaries.
