Jose Mourinho said, his front four were inconsistent
Expensive footballer Anthony Martial and Henrikh Mkhitaryan and popular Academy graduates Marcus Rashford and Jesse Lingard were laid into by their livid and frustrated boss Jose Mourinho after an eighth home draw of the season.
In particular, Mourinho said his unreliable front four were inconsistent and compared their performances to the rest of the outfield players who barely gave West Brom a sniff of their goal at Old Trafford.
'At some clubs, talent is always welcome even if it's not consistent. One day yes, one day no. For teams at this level if you want to win things, you need to be consistent.
'Today for 90 minutes, Valencia was consistent, Rojo, Bailly, Young, Fellaini, Carrick. The other ones were not consistent. It was a flash of talent, a glimpse. Almost a goal, but we need to kill opponents.
'Somebody who saw (our goals record) would think we are a defensive team, a counter-attack team that doesn't have ambition. But it is completely the opposite.
'Rashford, Lingard, Mkhitaryan, Martial, have scored total of 26 goals while Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Juan Mata are the ones with more goals. If it wasn't for them the situation would have been worse.
Ibrahimovic, has now completed a three-match ban he will be available to face Everton on Tuesday, he has scored 26 goals – the same amount as the four players mentioned by Mourinho put together.
