The first half was unconvincing, as both sides traded punch for punch, the visitors gave as good as they got

Arsenal could have gone a goal down in the 28th minute

Gunners looked like a non league side at the end of the first half but they finally found their rhythm and some quality to take the lead.

In the end, Arsene Wenger comfortably avoided the bullet that would have ended his Arsenal reign.

But, for a while at least at The Emirates last night, Lincoln's resilience still gave Wenger's enemies more ammunition in their hunt to take out the beleaguered Frenchman.

In the 72nd minute Alexis Sanchez made it 4-0 evading a challenge and firing a brilliant curling shot into the far corner.
