GRAPHIC PICTURE SHOW THE EXTENT OF DAMAGE TO DAVID HAYE'S ACHILLES SUSTAINED DURING TONY BELLEW

Graphic images have emerged that show the extent of the Achilles injury suffered by David Haye during his defeat to Tony Bellew.

Haye's corner threw in the towel at the end of the 11th round after the injury he picked up in the sixth round got worse.

Haye had surgery done to correct the problem and graphic photos of the operation have now come to light.

Haye has a cast up to his knee but, despite the lengthy lay-off ahead, he doesn't intend to call time on his career.

It is reported that David Haye had injured his Achilles a week before his grudge match with Tony Bellew on Saturday.

Haye shrugged off the problem, claiming to have put out some "red herrings" to confuse his opponent.

However, his condition got worse as the fight went on and trainer Shane McGuigan was forced to throw the towel in during the 11th round as his stricken fighter struggled to keep his feet.
