'I HAVE ALREADY DONE IT': I THREW AWAY MY GREEN CARD AND I HAVE RELOCATED (MEANING BACK TO H

Wole Soyinka said on Thursday he has fulfilled his pledge to throw away his US residency green card and leave the country if Donald Trump won the presidential election.

Soyinka had vowed to give up his Green card over a Trump victory to protest against the Republican billionaire's campaign promise to get tough on immigration.

"We on the African continent could boast that we had a contemporary descendent ruling the United States," Soyinka said referring to president Barack Obama whose father was from Kenya

“I had a horror of what is to come with Trump… I threw away the (green) card, and I have relocated, and I’m back to where I have always been” — meaning his homeland Nigeria.

The playwright, novelist and poet won the Nobel Prize for Literature in 1986 and has been a regular lecturer at US universities including Harvard, Cornell and Yale.

he said he would not discourage others from applying for a green card.

“It’s useful in many ways. I wouldn’t for one single moment discourage any Nigerians or anybody from acquiring a green card… but I have had enough of it,” he said

My opinion - Soyinka wouldn't have thrown away his green card if he was still in his 50s-60s, would he?

Besides he doesn't need the green card anymore now that he is 82

Has he been promised a cabinet appointment by Buhari, since he went to Aso-Rock to visit the President he has stopped his harsh criticism

If Soyinka was offered $100k by an American company or University to come and give a speech will he turn it down? absolutely not.
