PRESIDENT ELECT UNDER FIRE FOR DOUBLE TALK: TRUMP BACKS OFF CAMPAIGN PLEDGE AS HE SIGNALED THAT HIS
President elect Donald Trump appeared to be backing off from some of ,his campaign promises, he said he won't be prosecuting Hillary Clinton.
Trump backing off a vow on the campaign trail to appoint a special counsel to probe Hillary Clinton's secret email setup as Secretary of State and suspected pap-to-pay deals involving her family's foundation.
Donald Trump labelled Hillary Clinton as "Crooked Hillary" and made charges that Clinton was a corrupt scofflaw a centre of his campaign. The loud crowds at his rallies, convinced Hillary Clinton belonged in prison, regularly broke into chants of "lock her up!"
But Trump changed his mind on Tuesday, arguing that Hillary Clinton had suffered enough and the country needed to heel.
"I don't want to hurt the Clintons, I really don't," President elect Trump said in an interview with the New York Times. "She went through a lot and suffered greatly in many different ways." Trump also said the Clinton Foundation has done "good work."
My opinion - Donald Trump is a consummate insider who knows how to double talk and say anything in order to get elected which he did successfully
I welcome his decision not to go ahead with his campaign pledge of prosecuting Mrs Clinton as I wanted her to win but that aside, Trump deceived his supporters by making the prosecution of Hillary Clinton the cornerstone of his campaign
Trump has also changed his mind on climate change from his campaign rhetoric , he told New York Times in an interview that he would keep "an open mind" on the issue and the role human activity plays in rising global temperatures.
